A VEC spokesperson told the Warragul & Baw Baw Citizen 8,284 people had voted at the centre – the only one in the electorate – as of 1715 yesterday.

The spokesperson said the stream of voters had been “constant” and each day of early voting had been busier than the last.

On the first day of early voting on Monday last week there were around 300 early voters. Around one thousand people showed up on Monday of this week.

A record number of people have voted early across the state this election.

Votes cast during the early voting period will be counted on Monday, not on Saturday night with election day votes.
