A message from Angelo Saridis of the Baw Baw Blues Club:

To all the garage musicians out there in the greater Baw Baw area, I would like to invite you and your fellow music lovers to lend me your picks, sticks, keys, harps, horns and pipes. In the tradition of the many blues clubs sprouting up all over the globe I am sending out a call to all interested Baw Baw Blues hounds – the Baw Baw Blues Club is about to be born.

Blues Clubs encourage a more informal ‘jamming’ environment, where it’s not about playing the perfect tune and more about enjoying the experience of getting out of the spare room and into a community hall, playing with other interested music lovers, laughing at the bum notes, smiling at the sweet grooves, sharing music knowledge, forming relationships and making the world a better place one twelve-bar at a time.

The basics of a Blues Club are:

  • Backline equipment (Drums, Amps, PA, Mics) are provided
  • BYO Guitars, Sticks, Harps, Horns, Keys and Voices
  • Meet regularly to Jam (Blues, Boogie Woogie, Shuffle, Tex, R’n’B, Soul, Jazzier blues…)
  • Invite guest musicians to perform from time-to-time
  • Take part in community events
  • Stay Bluesy!

It won’t matter how old you are, how well you play or even whether you play at all (come along and tap your feet)…all who come in the laid-back, humorous and accepting tradition of blues will be welcome!!!
If this sounds like something you might be interested in, send an email to bb.bluesclub@gmail.com and let’s get jamming.

Location and timing of Blues Jamming session are still being worked out so feel free to send through any advice on how you would like to see the BB Blues Club work.

Yours in Blues,
Ange.
