Director Steve Wiegerink said the story focuses on the Northern Territory’s euthanasia laws.

Last Cab to Darwin tells the story of ‘Max’, a taxi driver from Broken Hill, who after discovering he is terminally ill, decides to take advantage of the Northern Territory’s new Euthanasia laws,” Mr Wiegerink said.

“The play takes us on Max’s journey up the centre of Australia as he comes to understand more about his own fast ending life through the lives of the colourful and quirky outback characters he meets along the way.”

Both humorous and tragic, Last Cab to Darwin proves once again why Reg Cribb is one of Australia’s best playwrights.

This is Off the Leash Theatre’s second Reg Cribb play, having performed the highly acclaimed The Return in 2010.

Off the Leash Theatre has also recently produced God of Carnage and (Dis)Connect; both shown at the May Be inspired Arts Festival.

The recent touring show of Face to Face performed to full houses in Drouin, Yinnar, and Neerim, and won an acclaim from East Gippsland audiences at Stratford.

Last Cab to Darwin will also tour and anyone is welcome to audition.
