Warragul boy wins award for go-karting

Warragul go-kart racer Troy Alger has taken out this month’s junior Gippstar award for his racing achievements.
The 12-year-old Mr Alger won the bankmecu November junior Gippstar award for his first place at the Rookies Australasian kart titles and for his solid results throughout the year.

Mr Alger also finished second overall in the Golden Power series Rookies class and second in the Bairnsdale open Rookies class.
Mr Alger aspires to drive V8 Supercars or in Formula One, and gave a kart demonstration at Sandown earlier this year.
The Gippstar awards are run by the Gippsland Sports Academy.
The annual winner of the Gippstar awards will be announced next year.
