A CHEMICAL spill at the Longwarry Food Park has caused the closure of Mackay Street as CFA crews clean up.

UPDATE (0042 30 October 2013): The CFA has given the all clear after the spill was contained this evening. Mackay Street has been reopened for normal use.

CFA and police vehicles from around Gippsland arrived at the street at around 2pm and foot and road traffic is being diverted.

The Baw Baw Shire Council said no reports of injuries or damage had been made and residents have been allowed to remain in their homes.

An exclusion zone of 800m downwind of the cleanup area is in place.
