THE BAW Baw Shire Council has appointed a new Director of Corporate Services and Organisational Development after Tim Frederico left the council in November last year.

Queenslander Shane Cagney will take up the position on 11 February after four years as CEO of McKinlay Shire Council in outback Queensland.

Baw Baw Shire CEO Helen Anstis told The Warragul Citizen in November the directorship is larger than that occupied by Mr Frederico.

The new directorship will cover governance, compliance, information technology, finance, human resources, payroll and overall business planning.

Mr Frederico was Director of Compliance and Corporate Services.

The employment of the new director was managed in-house.

I don’t know how true this is but I read an article that Baw Baw Shire is the most overstaffed Council in Victoria.

I am wondering if they have signs on their desks which say “I come here 8 hours a day and you want me to work as well.”
