NO INJURIES have been reported after a train collided with a trailer stopped on a level crossing at Trafalgar last night.
Trafalgar Police Leading Senior Constable Trevor Farmer told The Warragul Citizen the two occupants of a white ute towing the trailer were caught out by traffic lights.

Senior Constable Farmer said the pair from Warragul crossed the tracks to join the Princes Highway while traffic lights were green, but when the train approached boom gates were activated and the lights changed to red.
Not realising the trailer was still on the tracks, the driver obeyed the lights.
The train, an express service destined for Moe and not stopping at Trafalgar, collided with the trailer at approximately 6.50pm.
The trailer belonged to a mowing company and contained lawnmowers, drums of fuel, roundup and other chemicals initially believed to be fertiliser.

Chemicals and fuel from the trailer were spilled across the intersection, requiring CFA assistance to clean up.
The highway was closed at Trafalgar and traffic diverted.
Senior Constable Farmer commended the response time of CFA crews.
SES crews were at the scene for around five hours.
Train passengers reported smelling fuel after the crash.
Passengers were assisted from the train and bussed to Moe, Morwell and Traralgon.
The damaged train was returned to Warragul.
