A WOMAN has died and police say two people are lucky to be alive after a collision at the intersection of Nilma-Shady Creek Road and Bloomfield Road in Nilma today.

Police believe the woman, the sole occupant of a small sedan, attempted to turn right out of Nilma-Shady Creek Road when her car was hit by a white utility vehicle travelling south on Bloomfield Road.

The woman died at the scene while the occupants of the utility, a Warragul man and woman believed to be in their early 20s, escaped uninjured despite their vehicle rolling onto its roof.

Police are investigating the collision and will prepare a report for the coroner.

The collision brings the state’s provisional road toll for 2013 to eight, half what it was this time last year.warragul police william kulich warragul citizen
