Residents of West Gippsland have been warned by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) to prepare for severe weather and flash flooding this evening.
The BOM is expecting up to 50mm in rainfall tonight.

The State Emergency Service (SES) has issued the following advice for residents:
-Stay Informed – monitor local conditions and be aware of the situation.
-Farmers should prepare to move machinery and livestock to higher ground.
-Tune in to your emergency broadcasters: ABC Local Radio [tune to 100.7 FM for ABC Latrobe Valley], commercial radio and designated community radio stations, or SKY NEWS Television.
-Ensure your family members and neighbours are aware of the situation.
-Floodwaters are dangerous – never drive, walk or ride through floodwaters.
-Floodwaters are toxic – never play or swim in floodwaters.
The SES is also advising that those in caravan parks in low-lying areas should move to higher ground.
The BOM has warned against driving, riding or walking though flood waters and to keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
