Two dirt bikes left in a small trailer in the driveway of a Wade Street address were also stolen on Friday night after thieves burnt through straps holding them in place.

The trailer had been reverse parked in the victim’s driveway and was still attached to the car when the theft took place.

A police spokesperson said an offender or offenders would have had to lift the two small Atomic brand bikes, weighing between 70 and 80 kilograms each, from the trailer to get them free.

Both bikes had full tanks of fuel but ignition keys were not left in the trailer.

The bike theft occurred between 7pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday.
