Part of Warragul’s busy Bowen Street could soon be reconstructed.
The section of road between Sutton Street and Clifford Street has ongoing problems with tarmac failure and poor drainage and has been earmarked for repair by the Baw Baw Shire Council.
Works will likely include construction of a new 11.7 metre wide road surface including roadside parking, improvements to surface and underground drainage, and new kerb and channel.

It is hoped reconstruction will fix the road’s safety problems while also increasing the surfaced road area.
A Baw Baw Shire spokesperson said residents who would be directly affected by the works were sent letters outlining the plans.
The council also released a map of the plans and has encouraged community members to provide feedback. You can find the map here, and feedback details here.
“Feedback will be reviewed and considered before the detailed designs are finalised for the tendering process,” Baw Baw mayor Joe Gauci said in a media release.
