OVER 100 people attended an information display about the Warragul Railway Station Precinct upgrade held by VicRoads last week.

Manager of Project Delivery David Gellion told The Warragul Citizen the turnout for the display at the station was “pretty good” and responses had been mostly positive.

“It’s generally been pretty positive, but there have been some concerns about location,” Mr Gellion said.

“It’s (the footbridge connecting the new carpark to the station) a little bit removed from the station.”

But dissenting views were a minority.

“The other feedback has been the quicker you (VicRoads, who are managing the project) get onto it, the better,” Mr Gellion said.

The project will see a road and pedestrian underpass installed between Alfred Street and Queen Street at Normanby Street and a car park built on the old goods yard site, retaining four tracks to the south of the station.
