Drink driving truck driver caught near Drouin overpass

A 55-year-old Junction Village truck driver will face court after recording a breath test of 0.195 near Drouin yesterday.

The man’s B-double was intercepted on the Princes Freeway near the Drouin overpass just after 10pm after members of the public reported the driver to triple zero.

The man’s license was immediately suspended.

Police say he is expected to be charged with offenses including reckless conduct endangering a person, drink driving, drive in a manner dangerous and fail to comply with work diary requirements.

    Hi I just wonted to say my husband was the one that followed this truck driver all the way from nar nar goon and rang the police 000 four times to get this man caught, I really do think that he did a great job as this man could of called any one or him self. I just thought with the police taking my husbands details they would have called to say how much he did a great job of getting him off the roads and he stayed with the driver until the police car pulled him over. But also a very great job from the cops for listening and responding to his calls that my husband was telling them where he was each time he called and an up date. If only he recorded to show how bad this driver was
