DROUIN NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH will trial amalgamation with the Warragul branch after Drouin members failed to appoint a new committee.

Senior Constable Brett Godden told The Warragul Citizen the Drouin committee advertised the positions for many meetings before standing down for personal reasons.

“The old committee had been advertising in the Gazette and at meetings that come the AGM they would be stepping down and new community members would need to come forward to fulfil the committee roles,” Sen-Constable Gooden said.

“Unfortunately, on the night no one new came forward and none of the folks who attended the meeting chose to become part of the committee.”

“I guess in the end they were very lucky to have the lifeline of amalgamating with Warragul.”

“The Drouin group have voted to trial the amalgamation for twelve months and see how it goes.”
