AN ELDERLY couple were trapped in their car after it was rear-ended and pushed into two other cars in a crash on Princes Way at Drouin East this afternoon.
The crash occurred when an east-bound car collided with three others stopped at the intersection of Princes Way and Lardners Track at 3.15pm.

A Victoria Police media spokesperson told The Warragul Citizen the pair received non-life threatening injuries in the crash, but had to be cut from their car by SES crews before being taken to hospital.
All cars sustained damage but no other injuries were reported.
A significant amount of congestion occurred after the east-bound lane was closed while emergency services attended the scene.
Traffic was diverted while the lane was closed.

This goes to show just how much safer the traffic lights have made it… Glad we spent all that money on such a useless thing.
We were stuck in the traffic..I said to my son it must be a massive car crash..sure enough it was..lm hoping the Elderly Couple ok..as my son felt sick seeing the car totaled like that and a person still in the car.. 🙁

I drive through that intersection every day & am really glad the lights are in. It is much safer we had many close calls prior to their installation. But pple need to always stick to speed limits & be alert regardless. That accident seemed to happen about 50 – metres before the lights??? It’d be interesting to see the statistics there .
The day this happened. the next day my mother got rear ended by someone was looking the other way. it pays to keep your eyes on the road and stop gorking round.
Coming off the freeway you now face a giveway sign.I can’t recall ever seeing one in such a situation before.So if a nervous motorist jams on the brakes to give way to Drouin-Warragul traffic imagine the poor bugger following.
How about trying to keep it simple.
