Living in the Shire all our lives, my wife Sue and I raised three children on our Willow Grove dairy farm.

I’ve worked closely with many of our local farmers, business owners, residents and community groups to ensure that their local needs and views are being heard and addressed by Council.

My extensive involvement in local community activities includes regular meetings with local progress associations and town committees. I also have had strong involvement with C.F.A., Landcare, Reserve Committees, School Councils, UDV and sporting clubs.

I have committed myself as a local councillor to being open, accountable, receptive and genuine as the representative for North Ward.

I voted against the 2012 Shire budget rate increase as I believed it would place an unfair added burden on our community and cost savings should have been explored by Council.

If elected my priority will be to call for a full independent review into the roles and functions of Council to seek cost savings and efficiencies where possible to reduce pressure on residents and get value for money from our rates.

Taking residents’ concerns from the milking shed and shop counter to the Council chamber has been a genuine privilege and it is important our local Councillors understand they are only as strong as their partnership with local residents and businesses.

That’s why I am seeking re-election and why I need your help to continue our work in strengthening our regional towns and small communities across the Shire and in the North Ward.
