Fire restrictions for the Baw Baw Shire from Monday 23

Fire restrictions will come into force in the Baw Baw Shire on Monday the 23rd of January.

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) announced the restrictions for the Baw Baw and South Gippsland Shires via Twitter yesterday.

Under the restrictions conditions are placed on lighting fires outdoors, operating a barbeque, burning off vegetation, the terrain on which certain vehicles can travel, using incinerators, welding, cutting grass and crops and using a chainsaw. Restrictions are presently in force in 53 of the 69 municipalities inVictoria.

Fire restrictions are usually applied over the November to April period. The West & South Gippsland district is forecast to have a “High” fire danger rating on Monday the 16th.
