Police and VicRoads are working together to stop the hoons, who have dug up and wrecked roads by doing burnouts.

VicRoads Regional Director Sebastian Motta said authorities were disappointed by the damage.

“VicRoads is improving the condition of Gippsland’s roads, but we have hoons that are going in and tearing up the new surface on these roads which is extremely disappointing,” Mr Motta said in a media release.

A Gippsland police spokesperson said public assistance would help investigations.

“We’d like all the hoons out there to know that we’ll be keeping a close eye on these roads, but we’d also like the help of the community,” the spokesperson said.

“If you see hoon drivers tearing up roads, or driving in a dangerous manner, please take down their registration number and call the hoon hotline on 1800 333 000.”

  1. Roger Marks says:

A hoon has put his signature on our estate and it is obvious where the car came from because the trails led to his door.

What did the police do? Nothing.
