Man in court after setting own house alight three times

A 36-year-old Willow Grove man was in court today after setting a house he jointly owns alight three times.

Police told The Warragul Citizen the man was charged with burglary, three counts of arson and breaching intervention orders.

The man was arrested on Friday and held by police over the weekend.

The case was heard in the Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.

    Why does the same crime occur 3 times? It is a pity that we can not stop it after the first attempt, I would like to know more about the circumstances around the second and third attempts and the protection the inhabitants could get from our community.
