WARRAGUL Station’s new car park will be opened at a special community celebration event this morning.

Representatives from state and local governments as well as the companies involved in the car park’s construction will attend the event, which will also feature a free barbecue, face painting and coffee as well as displays of local emergency services vehicles.

The event will run from 10am to midday.

Drivers will be able to park in the new car park for the opening, however only a small number of spaces will be available due to the celebration.

Construction of the car park officially began in March. Click here for more about the project.

A new pedestrian bridge connecting the car park to the station was installed in May. Click here to see it being lifted into place.

The Alfred Street to Normanby Place underpass is not yet completed and will be opened at a later date.
