POLICE will focus on reducing the number of collisions causing serious injury in a special operation over the next three months.

Operation Eastern will take place in eastern region police service areas, including Baw Baw.

Twenty-seven per cent of the 88 road-related deaths to occur in the region last year took place in the July – August period.

Police will be looking for drink and drug drivers, fatigued drivers and driver error.

Younger and older drivers, pedestrians, motorcyclists, cyclists and heavy vehicles have been named as particular targets.

    Just so long as they get the P-Plater in the turquoise ute. That person is the most reckless, irresponsible and dangerous driver I’ve seen in a long time.
