REGIONAL rail operator V/Line has announced trains will run to Traralgon and Bairnsdale from Monday, but services will experience delays until later this month.
The line was closed between Moe and Bairnsdale in August after heavy rain damaged tracks, causing bus replacements from Moe and Warragul and extended travel times.

Although the line has been restored, services will run under speed restrictions along the repaired track sections until Sunday October 28.
Melbourne-bound services will depart all stations between Bairnsdale and Morwell 10 minutes early during that time.
Update: (12.45pm)
V/Line Gippsland Regional Manager Tim Pianta said in a media release the works have taken longer than expected.

“The work has taken longer than we would have liked,” Mr Pianta said.
“There were a number of issues we have had to negotiate, including huge volumes of water, relocating native wildlife, poor weather and difficult access.
“Our Gippsland customers have been patient and understanding with the work that is required and it’s great we can return trains to the entire region from Monday.”
The removal of dams installed to keep the area dry while works took place will take place over the next few weeks.
