‘Suspicious’ Warragul car fire under investigation

Police are investigating after an early morning fire destroyed a car on Warragul’s Clifford Street yesterday.

The fire was reported by a person delivering newspapers at 5.10am, but emergency crews were unable to stop the fire before it destroyed the car.

A Victoria Police spokesperson told the Baw Baw Citizen in an email this morning that the fire was being treated as suspicious.

“Detectives are treating the fire as suspicious and urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or submit a confidential report at crimestoppersvic.com.au,” the spokesperson said.
