Teenager seriously injured in Christmas hit-and-run: Warragul

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 19-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a hit-and-run in Warragul on Christmas morning.

Warragul Police Senior Sergeant John Brookes told The Warragul Citizen it is alleged the teenager was hit after running in front of a car at the intersection of Victoria and Smith Streets at 2am.

Sgt Brookes said the driver did not stop or render any assistance to the man, fearing they would be assaulted by others.

The man suffered internal injuries and a broken leg.

Investigators arranged an interview with the male driver through their parents and seized the car.

A preliminary breath test result of 0.00 per cent was recorded.
