Warragul’s Family and Children’s Services Centre held its annual Children’s Expo as part of Children’s Week last week.

Children took part in a pram walk around Eastern Park Reverse before sitting down to eat at a picnic run by the centre.

A Warragul Library librarian read stories and sang popular rhymes about teddy bears and children while they ate.

“Goldilocks and the Three Bears” and “Teddy Bear’s Picnic” were crowd favourites.

Baw Baw Family and Children Services Department coordinator Leonine Martens said the event was about connecting families in the region.

“What we are trying to do with this festival is provide another activity for families in Baw Baw so they can meet other families with children the same age and find out about other activities that the Baw Baw Shire offers for children,” Ms Martens told the Warragul & Baw Baw Citizen.

Over 100 families attended the event, an outcome Leonine Martens was pleased with.

“There was around about 100 people here, which was great,” she said.

“It was actually more than last year [where] weather was a factor. We are really happy with that.”
