The Baw Baw Shire business community joined with council representatives at the Yarragon Public Hall on Monday to release the 2012/13 Yarragon Brochure.

The guide to the business and retailers of Yarragon and surrounds is the second booklet the Yarragon Business Association has created to showcase the diversity of the area.

The brochure aims to encourage people to visit Yarragon’s fashion, antique, food and wine retailers.

Stepping beyond the tourism market, the booklet also showcases the specialty stores and service providers based in the area.

The brochure is widely available in Yarragon, and is being distributed to visitor information centres across Victoria and southern New South Wales, including the Federation Square Visitor Centre.

Funding for the brochure came from local businesses and Baw Baw Shire Council.

The brochure features a map of West Gippsland which suggests tour routes for exploring the region.

The map will also be placed on the community website, www.yarragon.com, for tourists to download when planning a trip to Yarragon.

David “Wombat” Lyons runs Yarragon Goats and is a member of the Yarragon Business Association. He was not part of the brochure project, but congratulates all the businesses that were. Yarragon and its galleries help Wombat relax after a busy morning in the paddocks.
