TRARALGON line passengers will have to buy a myki card to continue using trains from 24 February.
V/Line will retire its station-issued paper tickets for all commuter services on all lines from that date.
Paper tickets will continue to be used for passengers heading to or from stations further east of Traralgon.

The electronic ticketing system was introduced to the line on 8 July last year. The phasing out of paper tickets began on 24 September when periodical ticket sales were ceased.
Analysis by The Warragul Citizen has shown you may pay more or less for your ticket under myki depending on where you are heading to and from, mainly due to the way zoning has changed fare calculation.
Off peak ticket eligibility will also change.
The plastic myki cards cost $6 to buy and can be topped up online or at stations. Conductors are equipped with devices to check ticket validity.
