Several events across Baw Baw have been postponed or cancelled as forecast severe weather bears down on the region.

The biggest postponement is the annual Drouin Lights Up Christmas festival, which was scheduled to take place this evening. The event will now take place at 4pm on Friday 22 December.

Drouin Primary School’s twilight market and fete, which was scheduled to run alongside Drouin Lights Up, has been postponed until further notice.

Exactly how the Great Victorian Bike Ride, which is scheduled to finish in Trafalgar on Sunday, will be affected is yet to be seen. Organisers have stated on social media that they “are monitoring conditions and will have full information on tomorrow’s operations at tonight’s briefing at 7:00pm.”

“Keep an eye on the Great Vic Facebook event page or the website for further information.”

A cruelty free barbecue fundraiser which promised to “cook up a storm” at Trafalgar’s The Spud Shed on Saturday won’t be cooking up anything because of the storm.

But it’s not all doom and gloom – the Green Shed aerosol art workshop at Warragul’s Eastern Park has been moved inside the shed, away from the weather.
