West Gippsland cheesemakers Jindi Cheese have had their blue cheeses ranked third and fifth best in their class at the World Championship Cheese Contest in the United States.
The company’s Old Telegraph Road Heritage Blue came in at third place, just behind two Canadian entries, while its Jindi Reserve Estate Blue came in fifth place.

Jindi’s Deluxe Blue took out top position in the blue veined class in 2010, however only managed 11th place in this year’s competition.
The two winning Canadian cheeses, made by La Maison Alexis de Portneuf and Quality Cheese Inc, scored 98.40 and 98.50 respectively, with Jindi’s Old Telegraph Road scoring 98.05.
Fourth place went to polish maker Lazur Dairy Cooperative, who scored 97.90.
Jindi’s Reserve Estate Blue scored 97.80.
