Farmers’ Market, Arts Market, and a new festival all on the same morning? Warragul’s Civic Park is going to be busy!

Baw Baw Shire Council has announced it will be holding its first Sustainability Festival on Saturday 18 November in Civic Park, Warragul – the same time and place as two popular monthly markets.

Community groups and organisations “with an environmental sustainability theme” have been invited to apply for a free stall at the event.

“This festival will be an innovative way to engage with and inform our community on new and existing environmental initiatives and strategies,” Baw Baw mayor Joe Gauci said in a media release.

“Stay tuned as we’ll be releasing more information as the planning process unfolds.”

Planning for the event seems to be in the very early stages.

“We’re excited to test the waters and see what kind of response we get from the local community,” Cr Gauci said.

“We hope to receive interest from a wide range of community groups so we can cover lots of different sustainability aspects.

“We welcome all expressions of interest for stall holders, but we do need to stress that this is a pilot project so spaces are limited.”
