THE WARRAGUL Leisure Centre has said its pools have not been affected by a waterborne disease outbreak in the area.

In a statement on social media the organisation said letters from schools do not apply to Warragul.

“It has come to our attention that a letter has been sent out, from surrounding schools, about the outbreak of cryptosporidium,” the statement said.

“Though it is affecting some centres, the Warragul Leisure Centre would like to inform you that an outbreak has not occurred in our centre.”

Cryptosporidium can cause gastrointestinal illness with diarrhea.
