Claims Baillieu offered V/Line to Metro [Link]

[News short/Link] VICTORIA’S publicly owned regional rail operator V/Line was offered to suburban operator Metro earlier this year, The Age reports.

The Age is reporting sources close to the Baillieu government and Metro said the proposal was put forward by the government earlier this year but no agreement was made.

The government has denied that there are plans to privatise V/Line again.

V/Line operates all Gippsland line passenger services.

    I think it should be the other way around- the government buy Metro back and return it all to government owned. Linking Vline and Metro could be good- electrification back along the gippsland line with NSW OSCAR style units- so we still have toilets on the train- would be good
