UPDATED: Damaging winds forecast for West Gippsland tonight

Damaging winds peaking between 100 to 120km/h are expected to hit West Gippsland overnight.
The Bureau of Meteorology expects winds to average between 60 and 80km/h.

Winds will ease during Wednesday, but will return to similar strengths Wednesday night.
The State Emergency Service advises people to:
• Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
• Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.

• Keep clear of fallen power lines.
For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
[UPDATE: 10pm] Victora Police are warning drivers to take extra care in the bad conditions and avoid fallen power lines.
