I am running for Council because I believe Baw Baw needs experienced people with financial acumen and the ability to analyse complex information. I am semi-retired after a long career as a project manager and management consultant. My clients included the ANZ Bank, AXA Financial Services, Telstra, Hawker De Havilland, Tenix Defence, Australia Post and the Victorian Workcover Authority. I can bring a wealth of experience to the councillor role. Councils should make financially responsible decisions based on facts and expert advice, not on gut feel or so-called common sense. Over the past twelve years I have watched in alarm as residents have carried more and more of the rates burden while farmers get a discount and commercial property owners enjoyed a long holiday. I want a fairer deal for residential property owners and decisions that provide the maximum benefit for the majority of people. You can’t have your cake (lower rates) and eat it too (10 million dollar pool). Our population is rapidly ageing and we need a financially viable and stable Council that can provide good services to those who have worked and contributed to society over a long period. Beware of those who promise to fix everything overnight. Getting back on track will take time and strong strategic direction from a Council with experience and financial skills.

I migrated from Amsterdam in 1951, grew up in Lara, am married with 3 children and love sailing in my spare time. My contact is 0409 012 028.
